Collection: Yukari Hirotani

Yukari Hirotani is a Japanese ceramicist. Learning traditionally directly from a pottery master, she began to make Nanban Yakijime pottery which originates from South East Asia. Her work is characterized by a delicate simplicity reflected by the nature of clay and earth using ancestral techniques. Still quite unknown outside of Japan, with only a limited number of exhibitions in Europe. Yukari likes to work in solitude surrounded by nature, creating unpretentious purist ceramics with mindful care tat inspires peace.
