Collection: Kwaidan Editions
London designers Léa Dickely and Hung La founded Kwaidan Editions in 2016. The couple met at the Royal Academy in Antwerp in 2004, where they forged their friendship. Focusing on uniqueness, mood and distinction, each Kwaidan Editions collection serves as a concise and confident statement. Her first collection experiments with men's and women's garments produced in both luxurious and more everyday materials. Originally from the Alsatian region of France, Dickely began her career as a print and textile designer. Preferring freedom outside of traditional fashion structures, she developed a strong client base, including Rick Owens. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese-American gained experience as a women's clothing designer at brands such as Celine and Balenciaga. The origins of “Kwaidan Editions” refer to Masaki Kobayashi's 1965 film and Lafcadio Hearn's book of the same name. "Kwaidan" translated from Japanese as "strange stories."
